NOVI, Mich. — Michigan’s first Dick’s House of Sport is open for business in Novi, and the retailer plans a three-day grand opening celebration from Nov. 6 through Nov. 8.
The store took over the lower level of the old Sears building at Twelve Oaks Mall, a space left empty after Sears shut down there in 2019. The new shop covers roughly 100,000 square feet. Its listed address is 27600 Twelve Oaks Mall Road.
Shoppers can test gear on golf simulators, a climbing wall and a batting cage indoors. Outside sits a turf field with a track. For that outdoor area, the company asked the city for a Special Land Use Permit on a 17.79-acre site east of Novi Road below Twelve Mile. Primark and Round One Bowling & Arcade are also part of the Sears redevelopment.
Former Michigan basketball star Chris Webber and Detroit Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown are scheduled to appear on Friday, with Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood on Sunday. The weekend also brings a soccer ball giveaway for kids and mystery gift cards. A trading card and memorabilia area and a cleat wall with more than 300 cleats round out the store.
