Pontiac, Michigan – A Disturbing Case Unfolds
It’s a troubling time for many residents in Pontiac, as a local doctor faces serious legal issues connected to numerous allegations of sexual abuse. Dr. Oumair Aejaz is scheduled to appear in court this coming Monday, and the charges against him are nothing short of disturbing.
What Happened?
Dr. Aejaz, 40, is being accused of a series of horrific acts, including sexually assaulting multiple individuals and secretly recording them in private spaces. The investigation kicked off after a tip-off from his wife on August 7. This led authorities to seize an alarming amount of evidence: six computers, four cell phones, and 15 hard drives were collected. One of these hard drives allegedly held over 13,000 videos recorded by Aejaz over the past six years.
As the case unfolds, authorities have confirmed that the victims range anywhere from two years old to adults. Sheriff Mike Bouchard remarked at a press conference that this situation is one of the worst he has encountered in his career. With so many potential victims, he stated he could not even estimate a number due to the vast scale of the case.

Things took a darker turn on October 10 when 17 new felony charges were added against Aejaz, specifically related to the alleged abuse of a 6-year-old child. The prosecutor’s office alleges that he recorded himself engaging in sexual acts with the child on multiple occasions. These new charges include counts of first-degree and second-degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as charges for capturing images of an unclothed person, among others. This brings the total number of charges he faces to a staggering 27.

Dr. Aejaz is originally from India and came to the United States in 2011 for an internship in Michigan. After completing his residency at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit, he eventually moved to Dothan, Alabama. Although he returned to Oakland County to practice medicine, he’s been working as a contracted physician, meaning he may have worked at various facilities across different states.
Throughout his disturbing timeline, he has maintained a family life, being married and raising two young sons, all while holding a valid Michigan medical license until 2025. His Alabama license, unfortunately, expired in 2019.
Class Action Lawsuits
As the allegations grew in severity, multiple class action lawsuits have been filed against Aejaz, the hospitals where he worked, including DMC Sinai Grace and Henry Ford Macomb.
