The city is hosting a Detroit Sandwich Party on Sunday, Sept. 1 from noon until 5 p.m. at Eastern Market Shed 5. For more musical vibes, don’t miss Arts, Beats & Eats from Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 2. Taking place in downtown Royal Oak, this annual fest will be buzzing with hundreds of artists, food vendors, and makers showcasing their work. From pop-country music performer Dustin Lynch to ’80s R&B artist Keith Sweat, a myriad of well-known artists will be taking the stage.

If jazz is more your style, then head down to downtown Detroit for the Detroit Jazz Festival taking place from Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 2. It is the world’s largest free jazz festival, filled to the brim with talented artists performing on stages in Hart Plaza and Cadillac Square.

Want something more local? Check out the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival happening from Saturday, Aug. 31 through Monday, Sept. 2. Beyond the enjoyable music, this annual event also includes a carnival, wrestling shows, a canoe race, a parade, and a pierogi eating contest.

Viking enthusiasts can enjoy the Michigan Renaissance Festival happening over the weekends in September, offering a range of Viking-themed activities and rewards.
