Important Discussion on Radioactive Waste Disposal Slated for Wednesday in Wayne County
It’s big news in Wayne County, Michigan. We’ve learned that a pivotal meeting is planned this Wednesday. The topic? The disposal of radioactive waste at the Wayne Disposal Facility located in Van Buren Township.

Each week, about 25 semi-truck loads of radioactive waste are transported into the area. Two key stakeholders, a local Congresswoman and the Wayne County Executive, are expected to be present at the meeting. They’ll be meeting with the EGLE and the EPA representatives to discuss the current plan for the radioactive waste disposal.
