National Signing Day Brings Good News

Allie made this big announcement on National Signing Day, which took place on Wednesday, February 5. This is a momentous occasion not only for her but also for all future athletes in Johannesburg-Lewiston. It showcases what hard work, dedication, and a love for the sport can achieve. Nowak is all set to embark on an exciting journey, keen to grow her passion for running, forge new friendships, and sharpen her speed at Michigan State.

A Star on the Rise

Allie’s track record speaks volumes! In 2022, she played a pivotal role in leading her high school cross country team to their first-ever state championship. Not only did they claim the title, but she also clinched an impressive third place overall in the state championship race with a time of 19 minutes, 20.80 seconds.

But that’s not all—Nowak is also the reigning individual state champion in the 800-meter run. She set a remarkable new Division 4 record with a time of 2 minutes, 13.51 seconds. In addition to her impressive individual victories, she holds multiple school records that would leave any athlete in awe:

  • 800 meters: 2:13.51
  • 400 meters: 1:00.64
  • 1600 meters: 5:05.35
  • Pole vault: 8 feet, 9 inches
  • Girls cross country race: 18:00.9

On top of her individual accolades, she is also part of the record-holding teams in the 4×400-meter and 4×800-meter relay teams. What an impressive collection of accomplishments for one athlete!

The Recruitment Journey

During the recruitment process, Allie had conversations with various schools but made the decision to visit only Michigan State and the University of Michigan. She felt a strong connection to the team atmosphere and relationships she observed at MSU, which guided her decision to commit there. Very exciting times ahead!

Nowak’s choice to join the Michigan State women’s cross country team – which finished sixth at the Big Ten Championships on November 1, 2024 – puts her in good company. The team is under the tutelage of Lisa Breznau, a well-respected coach who has been honored as the Big Ten Cross Country Coach of the Year three times.

Looking Ahead

Allie now has one final season left with her high school team and is aiming to defend her 300-meter D4 state title. With her eyes set on the future, she continues to inspire fellow JoBurg athletes to chase their running dreams and reach for greatness.

This is just the beginning for Allie Nowak, and we can’t wait to see where her remarkable journey in track and field takes her next. Go, Allie! The community is cheering you on!
