Bloomfield Hills Sees Growth: Aquila Equity Partners Welcomes New Talent
The entrepreneurial private investment firm, Aquila Equity Partners, situated in Bloomfield Hills, has made a significant stride as it appoints Ashley Gray and Christiana Sanker to key positions and promoting Bobby Weiland to a senior role.

Ashley Gray: New Managing Director
Boasting more than ten years of experience in investment banking, advisory, corporate finance, and operations, Ashley Gray now holds the position of Aquila’s managing director. Before joining Aquila, Gray held a high-level position in finance at the private automotive supplier, ArtiFlex Manufacturing. She is also an active member of ACG Detroit and ACG Western Michigan.
In her new role, Gray will contribute to all areas of the firm’s operation, starting from deal sourcing, underwriting, to transaction execution, and finally, supporting the portfolio company partners.
Christiana Sanker: Operations and Transaction Coordinator
Christiana Sanker, with her background in entrepreneurship, operations, project management, and process creation and implementation, takes on the newly created role of operations and transaction coordinator at Aquila. Her main responsibilities will be to support due diligence and transaction execution processes and assist in successful onboarding for new acquisitions and partnerships.
Previously, Sanker co-founded an e-commerce business and helped drive critical initiatives at the digital design and digital firm, Pixoul.
Bobby Weiland: Senior Associate Role
Bobby Weiland has been promoted to the role of senior associate at Aquila. Weiland will take on a larger role in the transaction execution process and continue to support the operating company leadership on their growth strategies and financial planning. Weiland begun his career at La-Z-Boy Inc. and has worked as a consultant at Plante Moran on its Transaction Advisory Team.
