Born in Detroit, Michigan, Forsythe’s journey began in a modest home, where he was raised by his mother, Ruth. Seeking better opportunities for her family, Ruth instilled in Forsythe the values of hard work and determination. Forsythe’s impressive educational journey began at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Physiology. After returning from Vietnam, he continued his service as the State Surgeon for the Nevada Army National Guard. Forsythe was board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Utilization Review and Quality Assurance, with further eligibility in Clinical Pathology and Medical Gerontology. His pursuit of knowledge did not stop there—he became a certified homeopathic physician and became known as a pioneer in integrative oncology.

For nearly 60 years, Forsythe practiced medicine in Northern Nevada. He founded several important healthcare centers, including the Cancer Screening and Treatment Center of Nevada, the Forsythe Cancer Care Center, and the Century Wellness Clinic.
