Sponsor Our ArticlesWaterford, Michigan, prepares itself to host an awe-inspiring spectacle in the sky. The annual Open House & Air Show event organized by the Oakland County International Airport (OCIA) has announced an exhilarating new brand. It’s now being named the “Festival of Flight.”
The event is planned to swing into action on Sunday, August 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. An airshow, promising an array of incredible stunts and mesmerizing views, is set to unfold from 1:30 to 3 p.m. A fantastic opportunity to inspect a varied collection of planes and military vehicles awaits all which, by the way, are on display throughout the day.
What’s more fun than watching? Getting into the action, of course! Visitors also get a chance to quantifiably experience the joys of flight. Airplane and helicopter rides are on offer at an affordable rate of $50 per person.
The performers for this year’s airshow feature some awe-striking talents, such as the ‘Misty Blue’ – an all-female skydiving team, Stephen Covington flying “The Raptor“, and Skip Stewart maneuvering “Prometheus The Flying Machine” Biplane, to name a few.
Ensuring a whole day of family fun, local rock band ‘Wanted’ will also be setting the stage on fire with their performance. They’ll kickstart the air show with a National Anthem rendition. Everyone is encouraged to reach early to take in all the thrilling festivities on offer.
