The acquisition, which took place for an undisclosed amount, is a significant step in enhancing support for catastrophically injured individuals, including children and adults.
The deal brings a team of 40 experienced case managers from ILS into the HCML family. This means that clients of both organizations will benefit from an expanded team of specialists, all dedicated to delivering exceptional care. With a broader pool of talent at their fingertips, HCML is well-positioned to cater to the diverse needs of those requiring specialized rehabilitation services.
As part of the transition, the joint CEOs of ILS, Karenmarie Smith and Kate Maclean, are stepping away from the business. However, Sarah Ransome will remain as managing director and will seamlessly transition into HCML’s operations, ensuring continued leadership and vision for the team.
HCML’s CEO, James Murray, expressed that this acquisition significantly bolsters the organization’s standing as a leading provider of case management care in the UK. Murray highlighted HCML’s ambition to seize upon growth opportunities, especially in the fast-paced and ever-evolving healthcare landscape. Established in 1992, ILS has been a cornerstone of support for individuals suffering from severe injuries. They are noted for their specialization in case management tailored for those who are catastrophically injured. In the most recent financial reports, ILS boasted total net assets of £839,000 and employed a dedicated workforce of 74 individuals as of October 31, 2024.
This acquisition isn’t HCML’s first foray into expanding its case management services. Earlier in July 2023, HCML had acquired CA Case Management, another reputable expert in brain injury case management and expert witness services. These steps signify HCML’s proactive approach to enhancing its service offerings and expertise in providing care for the most vulnerable members of society.
