In a double-header event on the same day, North Carolina will go up against St. Bonaventure, while on November 27, Michigan State will clash with North Carolina, and St. Bonaventure will take on East Carolina. This tournament marks a significant moment for Michigan State, as it will be their first-ever meeting with East Carolina, while their matchup against North Carolina will be their 19th overall encounter, with North Carolina currently leading the series 13-5.

Michigan State’s recent record reflects their competitive stature, finishing the previous season with a record of 30-7 and achieving a 17-3 record in the Big Ten Conference, winning their 11th regular-season title under Coach Tom Izzo. The Spartans secured a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the 27th consecutive year, reaching the Elite Eight for the 11th time and ranking No. 7 in the Associated Press Top 25.

East Carolina, under Coach Michael Schwartz, has also shown great improvement, concluding the last season with 19 wins — the highest since the 2012-13 season — including a notable 10 wins in conference play, marking their best performance since joining the American Athletic Conference.

St. Bonaventure has displayed consistent performance under Coach Mark Schmidt, achieving 324 wins over 18 seasons and hitting the 20-win mark in three of the last four seasons. Last season, they finished with 22 wins and received an NIT bid, indicating strong program health.

Fans looking to attend the Fort Myers Tip-Off can secure their spots through official fan travel packages, which will be available starting June 12. These packages will include tickets to both games featuring the selected team, hotel accommodations, and parking at the arena. Notably, the only way to guarantee tickets to this popular event, which sold out the previous year, is through these travel packages. General ticket sales will begin in the fall if available.
