NBA Legend Sets to Open New Chicken Restaurant in Metro Detroit
Detroit – Some really exciting news for foodies and basketball enthusiasts alike! An NBA legend is spreading his wings (pun intended) in the restaurant business. He’s all set to open a new spot for some lip-smacking chicken delights in the place where another celebrity once had his own chicken joint.
The chicken restaurant ranks high in fame across the country. It was co-founded by no other than Shaquille O’Neal. The basketball superstar and culinary entrepreneur is planning to open the new restaurant somewhere in October at 30130 Plymouth Road. Those good at memories might remember that this was the old location of a restaurant run by Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri, called Chicken Guy! which unfortunately closed down earlier this year after being in business for just one year only.
If you’re wondering what’s so special about this joint, let me tell you – ‘Big Chicken’ is best known for its extraordinary fried chicken sandwiches, sides and shakes. They have some stand-out items on their menu like the “Shaq Attack“, that comprises of crispy fried chicken, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño slaw, and smothered in spicy chipotle BBQ sauce. Or the “The Ultimate“, a mouthwatering combo of fried chicken, mac and cheese, crispy fried onions topped with a roasted garlic BBQ aioli.
Now, you might be thinking this is one location opening, but hold your breath because this is just the beginning! Detroit, hold tight because the restaurant’s plan is way bigger. This location in Livonia is going to be the first of roughly 20 scheduled to be opened across Michigan. The first Big Chicken venue opened its doors earlier this year in Clio and another one is already operating at 10490 Highland Road in Hartland.
So, for all the chicken sandwich lovers out there, stay tuned for more updates! Your newest chicken hotspot might be just around the corner.
