Novi Gets Lively with Taco Fest for a Third Year

In the city of Novi, taco lovers gathered for an enjoyable weekend of food, fun, and competition as the Novi Taco Fest kicked off for its third year. The event, which took place at Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk, saw an influx of thousands of local and out-of-town visitors, making it the go-to place for all taco enthusiasts.

A Showcase of Delightful Experiences

The fest was packed with a staggering count of 35 taco trucks, alongside several other food and retail vendors, creating an impressive array of choices for visitors. But it wasn’t just the food that drew in the crowd. The event was lively with several fun and exciting competitions which included taco-eating contests, hot pepper-eating contests, and even cute dog contests.

Winning Takes Strategy

From the nerve-wracking hot pepper-eating contest to the competitive taco-eating challenge, winners shared their strategies. One winner advised to “Eat fast and swallow as fast as you can,” reflecting the thrilling spirit of the fest.

The Community is Thriving

While filled with tons of fun and food, the Taco Fest was more than just another festival. It started as an art fair three years ago, quickly evolved into the present Taco Fest, and has since been looked forward to by the community every year. Its success has significantly contributed to the liveliness of the entire west side of the metro Detroit area.

All these exciting events and activities drew in repeat visitors like one mother who claimed to leave the festival only to return for more delicious food from a African-Caribbean vendor. The Novi Taco Fest has undoubtedly cemented its place as a beloved annual event in the city.

A Look at the Future

Given the event’s success this year, plans for the Taco Fest 2025 have already been in talks. Residents and visitors alike can look forward to more excitement and delightful experiences coming their way.
