Disturbing Incident at an Oakland Park

In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old man was caught right after sexually assaulting a 12-year-old child at Pine Lake Park in West Bloomfield Township, Oakland County. Local officials reported the crime occurred in the middle of the night, raising concerns over child safety.

The man, identified by the police as Joshua Charston Brown-Hill, was found near a car parked at the site around 1 AM on August 15, 2024. The park was officially closed after sunset, marking the presence of the car and the individuals suspicious.

Upon intervening, the officers learnt about the reprehensible act the man had just completed. The victim, a minor girl, was present nearby. The girl informed the police of the heinous act carried out by Brown-Hill, leading to his immediate arrest.

Brown-Hill is now facing three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, with his charges dating back to incidents from June 1, 2024. He was presented before the court this Friday and was handed a bond worth $3 million. The man is now in the custody of Oakland County Jail.

Oakland County Prosecutor expressed her resolve to prosecute all individuals who target children to the fullest extent of the law. Commending the diligence of the West Bloomfield officer in handling this case, she urged the community members to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.

Court proceedings in this case are underway with a probable cause conference scheduled for August 29, and a preliminary examination on September 5.

The young victim was returned back to her parents and is receiving medical attention. While the incident shook the local community, officials have assured there is no further danger to the public.
