Born on August 15, 1958, in Dearborn, Michigan, Chuck was the third child of George and Mary Lillian Savatsky. He is survived by his wife, Rumi, children Tom and Lydia, step-daughter Hana, and siblings George and Kathy. The family also includes several nieces and a nephew, showcasing the extended family support that Chuck cherished throughout his life.
Chuck’s childhood was defined by a playful spirit and a bright intellect. As a toddler, he amazed family members with his early mathematical skills, stacking coins while his father graded papers. By the age of nine, he was already showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit by taking over the neighborhood lawn mowing business and winning the favor of neighbors with his charm, often receiving homemade pies.
His formative years were spent at Camp Dearborn, where he flourished in outdoor activities.
