Novi, Michigan – The community is mourning the passing of Judy Wallin, a passionate nurse, talented artist, and cherished friend. Wallin, who was a significant figure in her community, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and kindness.
Wallin, the beloved wife of the late Terry Wallin, was a dedicated mother and stepmother to Timothy (Nour) Jervis, Kristy (Mike) Cullinane, and Brian (Crystal) Wallin. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Sophia, Ben, Hannah, Maddox, and Esme, who were an essential part of her life.
Her family also included her late brother, David Weisler, and her sister-in-law, Liz Weisler, as well as Theo Kenealy. Surviving her are her niece Andrea and great nieces, Madelyn and Charlotte. Judy was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Jervis.
Initially starting her professional journey as a registered nurse, Wallin made a remarkable transition later in life to pursue her passion for art. She became the owner and operator of Northern Art in Petoskey, Michigan, where her creative talents shone bright. Her keen eye for decoration and style adorned various spaces in Charlevoix and Emmet County, contributing significantly to the local aesthetic.
In her retirement, Judy embarked on a new adventure with her husband, traveling across the country in a motor home. Together, they served as activity directors at different campgrounds, where they made countless friends and memories. During her final years, she became a resident of the Story Point community in Novi, Michigan.
Judy Wallin was known for her artistic flair and her close companionship with a beloved dog named Danny. Her interests extended beyond art; she was an avid reader who had a passion for crossword puzzles, card games, and social gatherings. Wallin had a unique gift for welcoming new friends and could often be seen engaging in lively conversations with strangers. Her approachable demeanor allowed her to inspire kindness and forge connections wherever she went.
Judy’s bright outlook on life, coupled with her dry sense of humor and fun-loving spirit, made her beloved by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life event is planned for a later date, a gathering that reflects her wishes of enjoying cocktails while listening to “Old Time Rock & Roll” by Bob Seger.
In her later months, Judy received support and companionship from close friends Julie, Marlyn, and Violet, for which the family has expressed their gratitude. Her influence will not be forgotten, and she will be sorely missed by her family and the many individuals she touched throughout her life.
As the community comes together to celebrate Judy Wallin’s life, her legacy of love and creativity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she inspired.
