When Can You Visit?

The Lightfest kicked off on Thursday and will continue lighting up the night sky through Christmas Eve. For those eager to experience this magical display, the Lightfest welcomes guests from Wednesday to Sunday every week, with special hours on Monday, December 23, and Tuesday, December 24, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Getting There

Ready to make your way to the Lightfest? The address is 7651 N. Merriman Road, located just 2.5 miles south of Interstate 96. However, keep in mind that due to ongoing bridge work, access is only available north of the Merriman Road Bridge. It’s a small detour for an amazing experience!

Simply tune into AM 1640 within three to five miles of the Lightfest entrance, and you’ll receive important information about wait times, traffic flow, and any special events happening throughout your visit. As the Lightfest prepares for guests, Hines Drive is set to close to traffic for setup and operations from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM along the stretch from Ann Arbor Trail to Outer Drive. Make sure to plan your travel accordingly!

Now, let’s talk in detail about tickets! You can purchase vehicle fees on-site in cash, but if you’re the organized type, consider pre-purchasing tickets for your friends or family. Tickets are available at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center located at 33175 Ann Arbor Trail in Westland from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. They have a walk-up window open since November 22, which means you can snag your tickets in advance!

If you prefer convenience, you can also get your tickets over the phone by calling (734) 261-1990. Just use a credit card, and they’ll mail your tickets right to your door. Note that tickets purchased at the Lightfest will need to be paid in cash only, but they are the same price as those you bought in advance.
