Sponsor Our ArticlesFast food chain Chick-fil-A, well-known for its chicken sandwiches, announced plans to expand its footprint in Michigan with the introduction of an additional 25-30 locations throughout the state. The Atlanta-based company revealed its intentions on Wednesday, promising to create over 2,500 jobs as a result of this initiative.
Currently, there are 28 successful Chick-fil-A’s operating across Michigan, from Woodhaven to Novi to Shelby Township, including a location that opened mid-January in Livonia at 11700 Middlebelt Rd. The new additions are planned to include locations in Detroit, Auburn Hills, Lincoln Park, Orion Township, Clinton Township, Canton, and Ann Arbor, with others coming to Lansing, Jackson, Saginaw, and Benton Harbor in 2025. Also slated for Fall/Winter 2024 opening are Chick-fil-A stores in Chesterfield Township, Roseville, Taylor, and Fort Gratiot.
It is estimated that each new opening location will result in approximately 80 to 120 new jobs. These are locally owned and operated chains with a strong commitment to attracting and developing top talent and building significant relations within the community. The additional 25-30 locations initiated by the company should create more than 2,500 jobs, contributing positively to Michigan’s local economies.
Chick-fil-A has further shown commitment to its new communities. For every new store launched, Chick-fil-A gifts $25,000 to Feeding America. Since 2020, over $450,000 has been donated to their Michigan partners including food banks and other not-for-profit organizations. Notably, around 261,000 meals have been donated since 2020.
“When looking to identify new opportunities to serve guests and support local communities and economic development, expanding our presence in Michigan was a clear next step,” said Scott Mayson, area director for the Midwest region. The company’s decision to expand is based on the ongoing successes and proven consumer satisfaction.
Founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A stands as a popular favorite among consumers, securing a top spot in the American Customer Satisfaction Index’s report for the tenth year in a row. Chick-fil-A operates more than 3,000 locations across 48 states and in Canada and Puerto Rico.
