WAYNE, Mich. — Two teams hunting for their first victory of the fall meet Friday night, Oct. 23, when the Novi Wildcats make the trip to Wayne Memorial for a nonleague high school football game.
Novi arrives at 0-8, and the Zebras are 0-7, so one side will finally walk off the field with a win on the board. The game falls in Week 9 of the Michigan high school schedule.
The matchup comes during a season of change for Novi. The Kensington Lakes Activities Association, which was put together 18 years ago, is breaking up under conference realignment.
Novi and Northville are set to join the Oakland Activities Association, while a dozen other KLAA programs move into the Southeastern Conference starting next school year.
For the Wildcats, a Friday result on the road would give the program something to build on as the old league winds down and a new conference slate waits ahead.
