DETROIT, Mich. — Novi’s Detroit Catholic Central football team closes out Prep Bowl day at Ford Field on Saturday, Oct. 24, meeting longtime Catholic League rival Birmingham Brother Rice in the 7:30 p.m. showcase game.
A Shamrocks win would probably wrap up the Central Division title without a tie. Catholic Central has not lost a divisional game since Sept. 22, 2023, when it fell 14-7 at Warren De La Salle. Brother Rice is chasing its first win over the Shamrocks since a 41-14 victory in 2014.
Catholic Central is one of the most prominent Catholic school athletic programs in Michigan, with multiple state football titles. Its marching band is set to perform at halftime of the night game.
The Prep Bowl is the Catholic High School League’s annual football showcase, founded by the Knights of Columbus. This year the league is marking its centennial, and its 100 greatest male and female athletes will be introduced after Jackson Lumen Christi and Dearborn Divine Child play at 4:30 p.m. Fans can enter the stadium starting at 7:15 a.m.
